Today I bought a 1980 Yamaha XS650. It died on the way back to Boise from Nampa, the carbs are probably just dirty due to it not being regularly driven or registered in the last decade. The starter is bad but it kicks easy. Already pulled a few things off; no more highway bars, no more air box (for now). Starts and doesn’t die with open carb. Going to ride it like this until winter then chop it up! It’s a bit tall for me right now so we’re going to cut the springs a bit so I can ride it for the rest of the season. As soon as it gets cold suspension goes bye bye!
